The SWDC-CS staff is dedicated to the provision of compassionate care in a easily accessible, comfortable setting with personalized care. The staff strives to provide excellent service from the moment of scheduling until the physician receives the imaging report. Major objectives include: decreasing delays, enhanced communication about procedures, and a demonstration of concern and courtesy.

SWDC-CS provides patients with state-of-the-art out-patient MRI, MR Angiography, CT and Plain Film X-Rays of the skull, spine, chest, abdomen, and extremities.

SWDC-CS brings one of the first HEARTSCAN CT (Cardiac Calcium Scoring) services to Colorado Springs. This new diagnostic cardiac imaging offers the latest in Calcium Scoring and advanced non-invasive cardiac imaging on the Siemens Emotion CT scanner. Heart motion can be virtually frozen within a single breath hold examination, achieving resolution sufficient to image the coronary arteries. We are proud to office this new technology for our patients. Coronary artery disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, and finally there is a way to help your patients through early detection.

The same CT equipment is able to perform virtual endoscopy which provides similar information as provided by mechanical, invasive endoscopy.

Both CT and MRI can perform angiography, which shows the inside of major arteries and can detect stenosis of these vessels. Stenosis is narrowing of the vessels and of the kidney arteries are involved, can produce high blood pressure. Narrowing of arteries in the neck and head can cause stroke in some individuals.

The MR and CT equipment at SWDC-CS will also perform the more conventional procedures which include: imaging of the brain, head, neck, spine, chest, lungs, liver, kidneys, abdomen, and extremities. Staging of carcinoma and lymphoma can also be performed on this equipment.

Our new high field, short-bore Siemens Harmony MR system delivers unsurpassed diagnostic detail, allow us to provide you comprehensive MR exams from head to toe even on hard to scan patients. We care about our patient's comfort as well as health. Our new short-bore system is ideal for claustrophobic patients and patients weighing up to 350+ pounds. The new rapid imaging techniques also help to shorten exam times.

Written reports and images are available to referring physicians over the internet. Interpretation reports are posted daily. Reports and actual film copies of your imaging studies are delivered twice daily at the request of physicians.
